The Stronger, Freer project is pleased to announce that Jim Mason will be providing a voice over for the part of the town crier in the first act of 'Stronger, Freer', an original Canada 150 play written, directed, and produced in Stouffville.
"We are so honoured to have Jim Mason helping us with this production", said Patrick Lannigan, board member of Stouffville Theatre Company and co-author of the play. "Jim did a test reading for us and but we didn't need him to finish because we knew we had the right voice for the part."
"In addition to having a great voice, Jim has always been a tireless leader in the Stouffville community", Lannigan added, "and he is passionate about the causes he believes in. When he retired this past year a roast was organized by David Barthau, and the venue was filled to maximum capacity to hounour Jim for the energy and time he put into both the Stouffville Sun Tribune and the Stouffville community overall."
Jim Mason was also was the announcer at the Stouffville Spirit Jr. A hockey team games for 17 years, moderated election debates at all government levels since 1985, and MC'd concerts, roasts, golf tournaments, and various charity events in the Stouffville area.
